We met our daughter at the visitor’s center on the old Courthouse Square to register. It has been three years since we walked this event, and she’s never walked it before. The square was ringed with arts/crafts tents. We started out by circling the courthouse square.

Watering the Work Mules Sculpture.

The old Masonic Temple is lovely.

Bust of Henry C. Matysek who was Williamson County Sheriff from 1954- 1974.

This over 105-year-old Ensign animal fountain was designed to be a combination horse trough and dog/cat watering station.

Markers on the old 1911 Williamson County Courthouse.

More markers on the old 1911 Williamson County Courthouse.

Pink granite marker dedicated to Robert Rivers.

We left the courthouse square and headed toward the Blue Hole and passed the Monument Café which is a classic roadside café.

Across the street from the Monument Café is the Plaza Apartment complex.

I didn’t detour to check it out, but this appears to be an old jail.

We passed this memorial to the first American Soldier killed by enemy fire in Afghanistan in the War on Terror, January 4, 2002.

We continued past the Wesley A.M.E. Church which is over 100 years old.

We passed through this old cemetery to reach the river.

As we passed by the Blue Hole we saw lots of people enjoying the river swimming area.

Not the safest thing for these kids to be doing.

We continued on the hike/bike trail along the river.

Brandy and Ed with the trail sign.

Down the switch back and across the river.

Swans (sorry they are blurry).

Looking downstream.

Brandy and Ed waiting for me.

We headed back toward downtown and passed the new Masonic Lodge.

One of the many nice homes in Georgetown.

Passing back by the old Masonic Temple.

Dancing Dog statue has no marker.

We did some looking at the arts/crafts on our way to lunch.

We enjoyed lunch at ThunderCloud Sub Shop.

Old Church across the street from the sub shop.
